Organoleptic:
Deep red in colour with a bouquet suggesting dry prunes, red fruits, spices and oak. Robust body, a generous structure with rich tannins, well-balanced acidity and a prolonged sweet aftertaste.
Food pairing:
Red meat, grilled meat, peppery cheeses.
Decanted before serving. Served at 16 - 18 °C.
Origin:
The single organic vineyard of Mylopotamos monastery on Mount Athos, Halkidiki, northern Greece.
Altitude: 5m - 100m. Soil: sandy clay.
Harvest: Early September. Yield: 40-50 hl/ha.
Age of vines: 17 years(average).
Agriculture: Organic.
Vinification:
Classic vinification process for red wines under controlled temperatures. Ageing in French oak barrels for 24 months. Acidity: 5.4 g/L TA, Residual sugar: 3.0 g/L.
